Terms of use

1. Acceptance
Tacet is made and published by Steven Fernandez, an independent developer ("the Author"). By installing or using the Tacet browser extension ("the Extension") or visiting gettacet.com ("the Site"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use the Extension.
2. What the Extension does
The Extension modifies how the Facebook desktop website is displayed in your own browser. It hides, collapses or annotates content according to settings you choose. It does not modify, delete or interact with content on Facebook's servers and does not perform any action on your account.
3. Licence
You are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the Extension in supported browsers. You may not reverse-engineer, redistribute, sell or create derivative works of the Extension except where applicable law permits.
4. Your responsibilities
You are responsible for complying with the terms of any website you use with the Extension, including Facebook's terms of service. You are responsible for the rules and settings you create and for keeping backups of any exported settings.
5. No affiliation
Tacet is independent software and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Meta Platforms, Inc. or Facebook. Facebook is a trademark of Meta Platforms, Inc.
6. Availability and changes
Facebook may change its website at any time, which can affect what the Extension is able to detect. The Author aims to release updates but does not guarantee that any feature will continue to work. The Author may modify or discontinue the Extension or the Site at any time.
7. Privacy
The privacy policy explains what the Extension stores and, more importantly, what it does not collect.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
The Extension and the Site are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Author is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss of data or content, arising from your use of the Extension or the Site.
10. Changes to these terms
The Author may update these terms. Material changes will be announced on the changelog and the effective date above will be updated. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
